On the last weekend of November we drove out to Canmore for a Farm Family retreat. Jim and I, the kids and my Mom left Thursday morning for Canmore. This was the kids first trip to the mountains (Sean went when he was a toddler but did not remember it). They were amazed by how BIG the mountains really were and by all of the trees. On Thursday we checked into our hotel and then walked around Canmore. We spent the evening at the water park in the hotel and basically had it to ourselves. Sean loved the water slide and went up and down it on his own. On Friday, we drove to Banff and took the kids up the gondola. They enjoyed the adventure and did a little walking around at the top of the mountain. We also checked out Bow Falls and the girls walked around the Banff Springs Hotel. We met up with the rest of the Murphy's in the evening for some farm/family business. On Saturday we met again in the morning before taking some time to enjoy the mountain scenery with some going for a drive and others checking out Canmore. We all had a great time and Sean is already making plans to go mountain climbing in the summer.
